    Ditto claim 3rd, Dignitas win showmatch

    So the MVS Challenge Cup is now officially closed. Last night Ditto overcame TLR in the third place play-off for the 500GBP on offer with a map score of 2 - 1 whilst Dignitas had a thrilling game against Norwegian outfit Oslo Lions following the public vote on UK-CT.net to determine who would play in the showmatch. The vote between Oslo and Team-AMERICA was very close but in the end Oslo managed to win by the smallest of margins and faced off against Dignitas on 3 maps and after some outstanding play from both teams Dignitas only narrowly emerged victorious, 2 - 1 on maps.

    The HLTV demos from both matches will be uploaded shortly to the following location: MVSCC HLTV Folder.

    QuadV have now uploaded all of the VoDs from the tournament which you can view whenever you like using the "VoD" link on the Navbar and just clicking the clip you want to watch.

    All that is left to say then is thank you to all the teams that took part, the admin team and the biggest thank you to our supporting partners; Dustworld for hosting the servers throughout the tournament, QuadV for the live audio / video coverage, theSGL.com for the use of their Anti-Cheat software and HLTV.org for the HLTV recordings.

    Thanks again and congratulations to all those winning in the Challenge Cup or UGMA's!

    UGMA Winners Announced!

    With the voting having closed on Friday we can now announce the winners from each of the categories for the "Ultimate Game Movie Awards" sponsored by MVS. The IG team has spent the weekend deliberating over all the clips submitted (thanks to everyone that did) and for those that submitted CS / CSS clips we have some good news. Given the lack of Quake clips submitted we decided to remove the Quake category and instead split the CS category into the two respective games; CS 1.6 and CSS with each having the same prize money. We are therefore pleased to announce the winners from each of the 4 categories:

    CS 1.6 Category
    1st = "Journey Through The Unknown Teaser" by Vadzim"VadoskiN"Khudabets
    2nd = "cccruuzzNN" by Lincoln 'spunge' Margison
    3rd = "minimal version" by titus productions

    CS:Source Category
    1st = "Vyperpunk" by Orion
    2nd = "Under Control" by Walid Abdul
    3rd = "DREAMS" by Ehkgasay Souphanthavong

    Call of Duty Category
    1st = "Carrera Rapida" by Nikolai Lazarev
    2nd = "Half_Inlusive" by BoĊĦtjan Omahen
    3rd = "Gravity" by Vladimir Lazarev

    Other Games Category
    1st = "Ey3gr1d" by Huc Romain
    2nd = "The Stolen Child" by Trace Sanderson
    3rd = "Moovje" by Zsolt

    Congratulations to all 12 of the above who will have their clips showcased at the Edinburgh Interactive Festival in August as part of the "Game Screening Programme". A big thank you to everyone that entered and if we get the time we will look to try and make the clips available to download or viewing on this site (somehow).

    Showmatch: Dignitas vs. YOU?!

    Well the final has been played and Dignitas crowned Champions but there is still the slight matter of the 3rd place play-off between TLR and ditto along with the promised Showmatch. The TLR vs. Ditto match will be played on Monday 8th at 9pm whilst the Showmatch is taking a slightly different spin. We wanted to give everyone the opportunity to test their luck against Dignitas for the 250GBP on offer and so are putting it to a public vote on UK-CT.net, the coverage partner for this event. Teams are requested to submit their names if they want to play against Dignitas on Monday evening at 8pm and a selection of the teams that apply will be put into a public vote over the weekend for the users to choose who they want to see take on the UK's No.1.

    Voting will close at 8pm on Sunday evening and the decision which teams will be in the vote will be taken sometime on Friday evening to keep everyone guessing. This is YOUR opportunity to strut your stuff and take on the best the UK has to offer with the added incentive of that 250GBP.

    Good luck to everyone that puts their name forward!

    Dignitas are Champions!

    After an intense two maps last night Dignitas have finally been crowned champions of the MVS Challenge Cup and walk away with the 1500 GBP Grand Prize. TCM don't go away empty-handed and pocket 1000 GBP for their troubles but I am sure will be disappointed with the performance they put in last night. They never really seemed to get going and what may add insult to injury is that Dignitas have now recruited another of the TCM players; taLz.

    Regardless though, it was a great game to watch between the two UK heavyweights and with superb coverage from QuadV (thanks Jay and Corin) it was a good evenings entertainment. Now we have the 3rd place play-off to look forward to and the deadline for the MVS Ultimate Game Movie Awards.

    Thank you to everyone that took part in the tournament over the past 2 months and hope you enjoyed competing.

    Grand Final Night - Tune in with QuadV

    Everything has lead to this one point in time, the moment where Champions are crowned and the crowd can be seen in rapturous applause celebrating a hard fought victory. This evening will play host to the Grand Final of the MVS Challenge Cup between the two dominant teams in the UK CS scene at the moment; Dignitas, the UK's No.1 and Team-Coolermaster, their continual challengers for the top spot.

    After the WiredOut LAN event a few months ago where a tired Dignitas fell to TCM they will surely go out all guns blazing to prove this was a one time blip and having secured the services of former TCM player "JungleboY" things will certainly be interesting. Join QuadV|Jay this evening as he brings you play-by-play commentary and if you aren't fortunate enough to watch that be sure to tune into the HLTV courtesy of HLTV.org. Also, read below for a quick preview of the match.

    "The Titans are coming.... Dignitas vs. TCM...the match we had all been hoping for is finally upon us. Two teams currently in turmoil with aleski playing probably his final game for Dignitas before moving over to CS Source and taLz from TCM rumoured to be joining Dignitas upon the completion of this tournament. There will be no love lost between the two this evening however as they both aim for the 1500 GBP prize being offered to the victors whilst the 2nd place finishers only secure a 1000 GBP reward for their troubles.

    With a best of 3 format like the rest of the bracket I suspect we will end up seeing the normal selection of Dust2, Nuke and Inferno with both teams trying to play to their strengths but anything could happen as both teams try to outsmart and outmaneuver each other.

    For Dignitas suffz should now be back from holiday and will likely start the final instead of wez who has done a good job of standing in for the past 2 matches to keep Dignitas rolling. Backed up by Kurt1s and JungleboY I see those 3 as the main attacking force for Dignitas and not scared to get stuck in, expect some huge frags from all of them. On the TCM side, I haven't seen the new Swedish recruit raise any eyebrows yet but he has been going about his work in an accomplished manner and always got the job done but tonight could be the night for him to stand up and be counted. punt and taLz are the two players that regularly rack up the kills and I am sure they will be aim to get in the faces of Dignitas, work those early picks and try to get the upper hand early in the rounds.

    This is a game that could go either way if both teams are on form but based on recent performances I would say that Dignitas look the stronger side and will take the match 2 - 1 on maps."

    MVS Movie Clip Competition Deadline

    A reminder to all those that are thinking of entering the MVS Ultimate Game Movie Awards that the deadline is looming ever close; Friday 5th June is the deadlone so only 5 days away. We are not looking for full movie that takes ages to make but rather small clips of 1 minute 30 seconds to showcase some of your creative skills and the visual effects you like to use.

    So far we have had some good entries but there is still some time to get yours submitted! Additionally, if we don't receive enough entries for a particular category for whatever reason (i.e. the clips arent within the rules set) we may look to allocate the prize funds elsewhere! So what more of an incentive do you need?

    Get that footage trimmed, those effects primed and that clip submitted!!
